Neram is a 2013 comedy-thriller film simultaneously made in the Malayalam and Tamil languages. The directorial debut of Alphonse Putharen, it stars Nivin Pauly, Nazriya Nazim and Simhaa in the lead roles. The other cast includes Nassar, Thambi Ramaiah, John Vijay, Charle, Ananth Nag, Shabareesh Varma and Crane Manohar.

The music is scored by debutant Rajesh Murugesan while Anand C. Chandran handles the cinematography and Putharen the editing himself. The film is produced by Winner Bulls Films. Distributed by Udhayanidhi Stalin in the banner Red Giant Movies.

Plot:

Neram is all about the life of Vetri (played by Nivin Pauly) and Veni (played by Nazriya). Vetri is a computer engineering graduate but is now jobless. His life is a little complicated now, because he has taken a loan from a private moneylender and is not able to repay the amount. The clash between romance and unemployment is highlighted in the movie. Veni is Vetri's childhood friend and she is the one who help him economically and mentally. She has a small job in a company. The other trouble Vetri face is from Veni's father. His animosity towards Vetri is the other mess which Vetri faces and as the story develops a series of problems is waiting for this young engineering graduate. How Vetri makeup his situation and start a better living is the core of the movie. The entire secret behind the film is its narrating style and the treasure that he gets in between the story along with a bulk of problems.
